What to do?

September 3rd, 2008 at 10:02 pm by Lord Bloggit

This site is suffering  from neglect.

I’m thinking of re-starting from the beginning ….. clean install, clean database, perhaps a new clean look ..

What do you think?

Ninety-nine days after their four-year-old daughter, Madeline, was kidnapped while on holiday in Portugal, Kate and Gerry McCann have announced the launch of a new section on YouTube.

The YouTube channel called ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’ will be devoted to helping to find missing youngsters like Madeleine McCann.

It will feature videos of the children with the aim of raising public awareness about their disappearance.

The McCanns said they hoped it would find a different audience among the millions of young people worldwide who log on to the YouTube every day.

The new site will be managed and policed by the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington DC.

There are already 229 videos connected to the campaign to find Madeleine on YouTube, one of which alone has been visited 50,000 times.

Need a number? Call Facebook for an insult on 118 118!

August 6th, 2007 at 4:04 pm by Lord Bloggit

The Number 118 118

UK directory inquiries firm 118 118 is investigating a Facebook page where former workers are trading insults about customers.

The Survivors Of 118 118 page on the social networking site is packed with abuse about callers.

The page is described as: “A group for survivors of the 118 experience: Numbers, politeness, quality, productivity, presence, cut-off, refund, angry, Scottish.. Bovered!”

The Number 118 118 which runs the directory inquiries service is investigating the page. The firm has ascertained that nearly all the comments have come from ex-employees.The firm are asking Facebook to withdraw the comments on the grounds that they are defamatory to their customers.

Another good reason why these social networking sites are a bad idea. :!:

Bebo and YouTube should be banned

All they seem to promote is anti-social behaviour.

They serve no real function other than to promote stupid, mindless rubbish.

New York steam explosion

July 19th, 2007 at 3:38 pm by Lord Bloggit

An underground steam pipe explosion tore through a New York street causing the death of one person. The explosion happened when a towering geyser of steam and rubble burst into the air near Grand Central Terminal. A number of people were also injured.

The images and reaction to the explosion are reminiscent of 911 - people covered in dust, people in shock, some sitting, some running and some wandering aimlessly.

Digital Point Forums is an ass!!

July 7th, 2007 at 2:19 am by Lord Bloggit

Yes that’s what I said ….. ‘Digital Point Forums is an ass’ and I’m being economical with my words in saying that. :!:

Why is DP an ass I hear you say? :?:

It’s an ass because of the way the mods (moderators) and the admin (administrator) run the site is the very same way an ass of a donkey would run it.

I have received two infractions from the self same mods and admin - the self styled ‘Sheriffs’ of the forums. My gripe is with their total lack of consistency, their lack of allowing due process to take its course and their total ignorance in not responding to my communications to them. My good record should have at least merited further communication!

I have been a very responsible and active participant on the DP forums. I have received a good reputation through my dealings with other members of the fora and I have received good iTraders from those who have had financial dealings with me. All in all I was a ‘good guy’ on the various fora.

Ok …. so what were these infractions/slaps on the wrist for?
