Microsoft has dropped its bid to buy Yahoo.
Negotiations fell through after the two sides failed to agree on an acceptable sale price.
Bosses at the software giant formally withdrew the offer in a letter.
Yahoo shares have lost 20% as a result.
Shareholders are fuming. It appears that Yahoo CEO Jerry yang’s ego got in the way of a deal that made good economic business sense!

Boyd Coddington the icon of the hotrod industry died on the 27th of February 2008 at the age of 63. Boyd created custom hotrods and classic one off vehicles. Though I may have not agreed with the fast deadline approach to his car building I have to admire what he achieved in his life. He created with his hands and he entertained with his ‘American Hotrod’ shows.
Rest in Peace Boyd …. your legacy is indeed one that will stand the test of time.

It amazes me that people (including web designers) will go to a lot of trouble putting a professinal web site together and then they forget to proof read it!
I came across the Irish Webmaster Forum recently and surfed my way to a ‘noobie’ web designer in Galway. His site Forbairt Media looks impressive but it appears that the designer/owner has a ‘flare’ rather than a ‘flair’ for design. I sincerely hope he has ….. because his ‘flare’ for spelling isn’t the best.
I must compliment his choice of business name ….. Forbairt = Development in Irish ….. Forbairt Media …. a very good name with a very good Irish connection.
An aside note …. I reckon the word ‘receive’ is the most mis-spelt word on the internet. As soon as I see ‘recieve’ I lose (another word that gets the ‘loose’ spelling) interest in what I’m reading.
Bad spelling on a site which gives the impression that its mother tongue is English = bad service = bad business for me so I move on.
…. If you see a spelling mistake on this blog …. good for you …. in my defence ….. this blog is just a listing of my personal ramblings as I stumble through the net ….. I take a lot more care when it’s a business/cash promoting site.
So …. the moral of my story ….. if you want your business site(s) to be taken seriously ….. get the spelling ‘rite’ or you willn’t get annie kustomers to buy your stuf.
I hope you recive my posting in good will! ![]()

Evel Knievel, the hard-living motorcycle daredevil whose exploits made him an international icon in the 1970s has died at the age of 69.
He had been in bad health for years, suffering from diabetes and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs.
Knievel under went a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C.
Guess he lasted a long time. He entertained many people for many years ….. thanks Evel!
Rest in Peace.

I see google tops the list as the Uk’s most popular online brand. Google is developing too much of a monopoly for its own good. Microsoft and Apple have slipped down the list. Google is the new Microsoft and Microsoft is either loved or hated. Me … I hate Microsoft …. pompous attitude that they have … a holier than thou attitude.

My NippyZip site is doing extremely well. It’s a custom made site and allows users to zip and send their files online.
It demands no input on my behalf and it is growing in popularity every day.
Well done NippyZip! ![]()
